Cooperation between JH IPC and Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf

Directors of both institutions, professor Martin Hof from J. Heyrovský Institute and professor Roland Sauerbrey from he Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) signed Memorandum of Understanding.

The cooperation between the two institutions will strengthen existing scientific and academic activities, which will include joint research projects as well as joint publishing and educational activities. Both organizations will support the creation of a network of excellent scientists for cooperation on top-notch basic research, research on advanced materials and technologies.

The Heyrovsky Institute and the HZDR will work on building new opportunities for research connections, which will enable both sides to maintain scientific excellence at the world level and to cooperate in the field of basic research as well as technology transfer. It will focus especially on the application of research results in the field of industry, but also on the search for new opportunities for joint projects aimed at the industrial application of results or the expansion of already existing cooperation with industrial partners.

In the future, the cooperation will also include reciprocal exchanges of scientific, technical, administrative staff and postgraduate students in the framework of joint and independent research projects, including internships, scholarships or visiting scientists. Both institutions count on mutual participation in professional seminars organized by both the J. Heyrovský Institute and the HZDR.

At the very beginning of next year, on January 31, 2020, the first joint seminar focused on 2D materials, THz spectroscopy, bio membranes, mass spectrometry, nanocatalysis and quantum computing will take place at the J. Heyrovský Institute.
